New Museum / 10 year anniversary on the bowery

December 1, 2017

On December 1, 2007 the New Museum opened its SANAA designed new home at 235 Bowery in New York. In addition to this 10 year moment, the New Museum is currently celebrating its 1977 founding 40th anniversary. Forever Fearless. As part of its stated core values, the museum finds, ‘the free flow of ideas and of people is essential to what we do. We oppose xenophobia and discrimination and remain steadfastly committed to the fundamental American principles of free expression and open engagement.’

Its been an honor to have been part of the New Museum family over these past eleven years which began with our collaboration on an extensive documentation of construction. Being brought back to photograph the iconic facade’s three ensuing incarnations [pictured] has allowed for that longer view in which the surface of the museum’s evolution, along with that of the Bowery itself, has been portrayed.

Congratulations to all.
